Windows XP Security Update(KB835732) Problem

Hi all,
I have installed KB835732 update to more than three Windows XP SP1 Computers and have a problem Printing and The appearance of the taskbar, and title bar of every changes to black.

The Black color I really don't mind because it is OK with with windows classic style. But the printer Problem is serious. Because no application can print. Besides the test page always fails without trying. All applications report script error on some file in %system%\system32\ folder.

After I uninstall the sasser KB835732 update the problem seems to resolve. So I conclude that there is a problem in the Patch. But removing the patch, the sasser problem comes back. I installed firewall (mcafee) it seems that the problem persists.

If there is anyone who can help me solve this problem, it would be a great help.

Have you tried applying SP2 to your machines yet? Not only will it stop the sasser problem but also includes some other good security features.

There are many reports of this update causing problems, especially with Windows 2000 machine. bcastner gave some advice on this here thread616-821514

Install SP2 or see if the you have better luck with the updated version of this patch.

Thanks Everyone,

I will have to see where I can get the SP2. I am working in a remote area and It will take me sometime to et it. BTW can I download SP2, just curious, even if It is possible I am working in a slow dial-up it will take forever to get it complete.
