I installed windows xp pro with service pack 2 on my computer. after getting a set of more updates (one that included the gdi+ decection tool. and a whole bunch of other secuirty updates. once i restarted my computer and the windows xp loading page was finishing loading i would get a quick blue screen error which i can never read cause it is only on for a half a second and then restarted everything time....

i've tried pressing f8 after the reboot and running window from the last known good configuration.(still restarts)

i've tried running in safe mode. (still restarts)

does anyone have a clue what could be went wrong.

or should just do a system repair??

Hi i think you have downloaded something you dont need.
what you want to do is take off all but the windows updates and then run with a good antivirus, because you have downloaded a gdi + decection tool. that is what could be causing your trouble.

See my own website at

To find the exact error, F8 to bring up the Safe Mode Screen and select the option to turn off automatically restart (which should have been inserted by SP2).

As you can't boot in any case try these too -

To remove all the updates you loaded and return to SP2 non-updated level, you will have to slipstream the SP2 into your original XP CD and run a repair install. You will lose all your windows updates but your files will be untouched.
