Windows XP Remote Desktop Issue

I wonder if anyone has had this issue before.

When connecting to a remote PC through Windows XP Remote Desktop the text in any text editor (Notepad, VB6 IDE, Word etc) always highlights when using the cursor keys. Imagine holding down shift and then using the arrow keys and this is the affect I get.

In VB I have to press escape and this will then un-highlight the text but it comes back again after using the arrow keys.

I hope someone has an answer to this as it is very annoying and especially dangerous when working in VB as I could without knowing delete some code!

I have found the answer. One for future reference.

I had to turn off the Num Lock on my PC and this solved the problem
