Windows XP problem with Media Player 9

Just noticed that something STRANGE is happening when I play any file type that would be normally associated with WM Player. After you install WM Player, it goes through file associations. That's fin. BUt now when ever I open a file (bear in mind I've now changed ALL files to open with another program) it goes through this cycle of the file association screens. And as soon as I've click next, next and finish it does it all again.
Is there a way I can get rid of Media Player 9?? I've tried re installing it, but it's the same again.

I just re installed it again and it cleared up.
