I am using NSElite software for connecting to our Mainframe remotely. Recently, I had a problem with NSElite, so I uninstalled it. Now, when I try to install it, the installation package starts extracting but stops in the middle with the error:

C:\Windows\System32\svchost.exe
C:\Windows\System32\ntdoshll.dll. An installable virtual device driver failed dll initialization. Choose close to terminate the application.

I have two choices – “Close” and “Ignore”

If I click Close, the extraction of files and installation terminates; if I click Ignore, the installation continues, but with errors (can’t find files).

I think this is a Windows XP Pro problem since the problem occurs while extracting the install files, before the actual installation has begun.

Incidentally, I get the same error when I try to run a batch file to connect to the mainframe (outside of NSElite). However, in that case, when I click Ignore, the batch file proceeds OK.

I would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.
