I am using a Windows 2000 server a long time , on the same network.,
All my stations running Windows 98 get access on my domain,
but when I need use a computer with Windows XP PRO,
after I put my login and password (control panel ,systems, proprieties, domain.) I am
receive the message:
"a error has occurred during a tentative of access in the domain "PEDRELY".
"The path of network can't be found "
In the workgroup I can access no problem.

Does anyone can help me?

Compare your network settings between your Win98 and Xp machine. Sounds like your DNS settings are not correct.

For Windows 98 station I didn´t need to cofigure DNS for get access to my domain.
My questions are:
1) My domain for Windows 98 was simple "Pedrely" ,I didn´t use DNS. Do I have to create another domain like pedrely.com. for get access in Windows XP?
2) Do I have configure DNS for access from Windows XP?

Thanks

well you need to configure your XP client with the DNS of your 2000 domain, whether it be via DHCP or staticly assigned. You are using DNS because you have to for a domain to be setup.

Where can I get information about to configure my DNS for my internal network and configure my station Windows XP?

I am assuming that you have DNS running on your 2000 DC. Configure your XP workstation to use the IP of your DC for a DNS server. also, it may be helpful to use the FQDN of your domain when joining the XP machine.
