Windows xp ports?

i would like to close the ports that windows XP use. i need to know thwe port numbers and how to close them in XP can anyone help or know of a good website with the info? Thanx.

There is also a program out there called FPort. It will allow you to see what ports are open on your computer and what applications are accessing those ports. It will make it easier in verifying what ports are open and by what program.
