Hi I have got three PCs connected to a Linksys Wireless ADSL Gateway/router. On PC is running WinXP Pro, one is running Windows 98 and one running Win XP Home. The XP Pro machine and Win 98 machines can see each other and share files no worries but the XP Home machine comes up with the following error when trying to view "Workgroup Computers" in "My Network Places". Error: The list of servers for this workgroup are currently not available". I have searched for solutions and tried all the suggestions but still nothing.. Any Ideas?

I have set the DWORD value "NodeType" to 8 in the registry for NetBT\Parameters which canges the Node Type to Hybrid but doesn't fiz the problem.

I have encountered this problem before, XP Home at times does not want to see PRO over the network, I am not too sure as to why this happens though.

marcasii,

I had the same problem with my network, but it was the XP Pro box that couldn't see shared folders on other machines.
Try enabling NetBios over TCP/IP.

This indicates a Browser election battle. In Event Viewer you likely will see Browser errors.

On the XP Home machine:
Go to Program files, Adminstrative tools, Services then in the right panel right click on Computer Browser and right click, properties, then from the startup list select Disabled. Or type regedt32, and scroll to this key change value to False
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Browser\Parameters IsDomainMaster=FALSE

I just saw a FAQ by ReddLefty on this very issue: faq96-3728
