Conexant has not released drivers (to the public) for windows XP yet. Manufacturers have had them for quite awhile, so if you can't get the correct driver from your modem's manufacturer, I'd be letting them know.
There WILL be generic drivers for Conexant/Rockwell modems sometime in the future, but they won't necessarily work with YOUR modem.
Until you know the manufacturer of your modem (Conexant make chips, not modems!) and can get a driver from them (who knows when), it's best to use a generic XP driver. There are lots of them on the XP CD. Start with any Hayes compatible 56k, and work through a few.
Diamond supra Max are HCF drivers.
Zoltrix Spirit as well.
Supra Express are ACF and ACF II drivers, might work, and there are multitudes of drivers for SoftK56V modems, from most manufacturers. Cheers,
Jim

Im having the same sort of problem as above.

I have the rockwell 56k data/fax modem but it hasnt worked since installing XP. Will i be able to find a suitable driver on the XP installation disk?

Well I am having The Same Problem...Has anyone fixed their problem??
My modem is a riptide modem/sound card...the sound card works...but the modem doesnt...it is a rockwell/conexant chipset. I downloaded drivers from HP for my hardware when i had win me...it setup correctly and worked...but once i installed xp just the sound was working...haven't been able to find any drivers for my modem.

I Hope Someone solves this problem.
Will Check Back frequently.

XP drivers are on my modems page.
Riptide drivers for Windows2000 are also there, however, it's not known for sure if they work in XP or not.
Blame HP, then buy a real modem. Cheers,
Jim

Yes, the HP Riptide modem drivers on Jim's page do, in fact work in Windows XP. Thank you Jim for providing such a valuable resource on the net, :)

Hey another thanks to Jim for the great info! Saved me a bunch of headache, and I learned more about the (dare I say crappy??? <g>) Conexant chip-set modems then I ever wanted to....
