Ok started my PC today it's running Windows XP SP2

And this appears on screen

Verifying DMI Pool Date.........
Boot from CD:
Boot from CD:

DISK BOOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER

So I ran the Windows XP disc and choose R for recovery and it list the Hard drive as fully working (showing it's total volume).
So is the Drive screwed OR is there something that suddenly needs altering in the BIOS??

Never seen this before I do have some files I could do with off the C drive but lucky for me my work is on the others in the PC which I have disconnected to make sure while I'm prattling about I do not install windows over them it would be nice to get my COD 4 character details off it though I was on level 37 DOH !!!

any one any ideas?

Its going straight into Network Booting, which means it either can't see the drive or it can't find available boot files from it.

check the BIOS and make sure the drive is being picked up. If it is, you might need to repair your installation.

Also While in BIOS check that the boot order has the hard drive at some point.

Ignorance is not necessarily Bliss, case in point:
Unknown has caused an Unknown Error on Unknown and must be shutdown to prevent damage to Unknown.

Hi Guys the Disc is being seen by the Bios & Hardrive is set to boot after CD is checked.

The drive has been working fine up to this point and no one uses the PC except myself so how do I find out if the partition is set to active?

Like I say the Repair off the XP disc says everything is A ok and sees the full kb on the hard drive?
