Hello,
I jsut bought a new HP PAvillion slimline with vista. I needed to downgrade to xp SP2 so I did. In doing so, I was able to get teh entire computer functioning, EXCEPT teh cd rom drive. The drive reboots everytime I insert a cd in it. It've plugged in an external us b cddrive and that works fine.

Can anyone advise me how to get my cdrom working again. It's a I've reinstalled the driver, no luck. I've checked device manager and it shows the origianl drive is functioning.

The device brand is TSST Corp CD/DVDW TS-H653L.

thanks in advance.

Do you have any VIRTUAL CD software installed, ie. DaemonTools or Alcohol or Nero's VCD?

try to deinstall the CD ROM in the Device Manager, then reboot and let winXP reinstall it, and see if that changes things...
