Hi,
I have a network consisting on 55 Workstations running Windows XP, and three servers running Windows 2003 and exchange 2003.
I'm about to purchase two licenses for windows 2008 R2 and Exchange 2010.
My doubts are related to the CALs I need to buy.
For Exchange 2010 it is clear that I need to buy new CALs, even if I buy a new version of Office, in the past having an Outlook license meant you had a CAL for Exchange, but seems is not the case any more.
Also in the past, Windows XP came with a CAL that was valid for Windows 2003, does anybody know if this XP CAL is still valid for Windows 2008R2 server? Or do I need to buy new CALs for the workstations too?
I could not find clear info about this anywhere, if anyone could show me some light about the issue I would be eternally grateful.
