Hello,

im having trouble with Windows XP and my "MDP3858V-E Modem" which came with my HP computer.
XP installs the drivers and i can query the modem (As shown below).

But every time i dial, the dail tone goes lower and thats all that happens. (although it does make the dialing sound as it goes through the numbers but nothing else happens)

I can only get the normal tone back if i disable and then enable the modem driver or reboot.

I have included the log beacuse it seems that some thing may be wrong with the driver.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks

It's a Rockwell HCF chipset on a bastardized proprietary modem built by HP.
If you can't get drivers from HP, the ones on my site may work (no guarantees).
Best option is to go and buy a real modem. Cheers,
Jim
