Windows XP access W2k Server across firewall

I have the follow scene:
W2k Server (ADS,DNS)
Linux Firewall
Windows XP Client

I need access the w2k server with subnet 10.1.0.0/24 using some xp with subnet 10.3.0.0/24. Everything work fine with one problem. My first access to the shared folder on the server, using xp client take a long time to open the folder. After that if I try copy file, move or delete, the operation go so fast.

What I need make to connect more faster?
