Hello. Windows XP Pro SP1 will not allow me to install this hp deskjet 3520. I tried the install disk, and at the very end of the installation process, as it's going through it's various "installation phases" (ie registering new components, blah blah...) it says "rolling back action" and ends with a screen that says "windows was unable to complete the installation. please run setup again." well, after running again, of course the same thing happens. so i went the the printers and faxes window and clicked "add a printer" immediately, a message pops up telling me "operation could not be completed" so is it me, or is windows having difficulty recognizing, or accepting, my printer? i think something in the windows OS may have been lost, preventing me from installing...and i am computer administrator, so it shouldn't be a conflict there...any help is appreciated!

After a failure like that, don't forget to reboot before retrying. And make sure you have the latest HP printer drivers downloaded.

I had a similar issue with a couple XP computers trying to install to a printer shared from a Windows Me (Millennium Edition) computer after they were all moved around. I took it as an opportunity to install XP sp2. It still said "Installing" on one of the XPs, but the users say it works...
