Hi All

Anyone who could have an idea of how to resolve this problem accessing domain server shared folder.
Am able to ping the server, use remote connection to the server and access other client computer's shared folders as well as browse the internet through the same DNS server.

All other OS(Winxp) access except vista

What OS is this 'server' & is there any info in it's error log? What is the error when accessing this shared folder? Are other domain users able to access this folder from the vista machine or is it all users? Can the same domain user access the shared folder from some other machine?

see if these are any help:

I have a similar problem like this, i can access local servers fine but from my vista machine I can't access a w2k3 web server through the firewall but I can from an XP machine on the same network as my Vista PC.

I just did a quick test, from a 2000 PC, it connected to the server on 139. But I tried from my Vista PC and it sends a connection out to 139 but it can't connect on 445 so it gives up.

My guess is your server is blocking port 445 in some fashion.

Try from a cmd prompt on the vista PC:

telnet 1.1.1.1 445 and if the window goes black its ok, if it gives an error that may be your issue.

Cheers
