When Microsoft brought out their beta Media Player 9 I installed it. However now Windows version written on the desktop says
Windows XP Pro
for testing purposes only version bla bla bla

I have tried turning this off in the registry but it makes no difference. How can I change this version name back to normal (not testing)? Uninstalliung MP9 doesn't work.

Cheers

I'm reading straight from the help within TweakUI:

This is a per-user setting. If you are running an evalutation version of Windows, the version will always be displayed. If you have enabled Web content on the desktop, the version will never be displayed. Changing this setting requires a logoff.

So I guess try finding some way to enable Web content on the desktop.
