Is there a reason why I have to log in as a local admin in order to install updates pushed out to my 2k8 server via WSUS? I log in as a Domain Admin, which is part of the local admins group, and cannot install the updates.

Any specific error?

What version of WSUS are you using?

Using 3.0 with SP1

No, when I log in as a Domain Admin, it says that updates are available. When I click the icon, it take me to the windows update screen. On that screen, all it says is

"Some settings are managed by your System Administrator" and gives the information about the updates.

When I log in as a local admin, it takes me to the same screen but I have the option to install the updates
