I posted a thread a while back - 496-1611382 about Service Pack Updates and the proper procedures - well...I'm back! I'm about to have the latest SP/patch loaded on the MAS 5.2 servers (Exchange storage) and need to know if there is anything I should be verifying with regard to Windows updates, etc. before-hand? If so, where do I find this information? I have looked high and low and not locating anything...maybe there is nothing to locate! Any help/tips/list of instructions would be appreciated.

If you mean the Microsoft updates the Avaya stance on that is just load them on as they come out. I don't do that until they have been out for at least 30 days or more.

If the service pack from Avaya needs to have a particular level of server 2003 on it the patch info will state that in the installation requirements.

Also I would not load a service pack on the system unless it has something on it that you need and it has been out for at least 30 days.

Check out for the Security Advisories from Avaya.

For 2011 check out this link:
Old Avaya stance was to check with them first before applying the new Windows patch but that could take up too long for a response for some clients; so the New Avaya stance is as Ken says to apply then go to Avaya if issues found.

I agree with Ken in waiting a while for new patches since experience has taught me that other problems can occur and some patches have been withdrawn the day they were released.

This security website is updated regularly so I would check there first.
