Windows Update

Hey everyone,

I just have a quick question... Does your company/business use Automatic Windows Updates? Our consultant seems to be against doing it for the workstations here but there are SO MANY of them that it takes A LOT of time to run around and do them manually.

I was just wondering if it was common practice to do Windows Updates automatically or do you all do them manually? Or is there another way?? Please advise

There are no more PDC's! There are DC's with FSMO roles!

I have auto updates on all of our PCs for Windows and virus scan with a WSUS server. Even in a small company, the one I work for has less than 40 people, it can take a whole day or more. Then you have to deal with people saying come back later or they're too busy. Nah, just have them auto run and auto reboot at like 3am.

Just make sure everyone leaves their PC on at night. I usually do anti-virus updates every night and run Windows updates once a week.
