Windows Update

I seem to have a problem on my server SBS2003 SP1, with the windows updates.
None seem to work. They download correctly and prompt me to install, but there are a number of them that refuse to install. There is nothing the the logs that can lead to a problem. Where should I be looking?
Also the SP2 for Sharepoint has not been able to install as well?
Im thinking of starting in safe mode and try all these but will I cause more harm than good?
Any ideas?
This started happening about 3-4 months ago, maybe more.

Are there any reference to this stuff in the event viewer?

Have you tried to install these updates manually?

Are you logged in as the admin?

Did you try to reboot the server?

Are you running WSUS?
