Hi Everyone

Can someone point me in the right direction please. I am looking for the registry key that will reenable the Windows update function that is usually under tool in internet explorer?

You really should update your version of IE. That would fix your problem (I would think.)

The answer has always been 42

Unfortunately I am unable to update the version as our Corporate standard is 5.5. That being said I did do an upgrade on one of my test machines but it hold the settings. After a few hours of sifting throught the registry I have come up with two registry keys that are responsable for this.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\WindowsUpdate\DisableWindowsUpdateAccess"

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\NoWindowsUpdate

Make sure that the DWORD value is 0 to diable these.

This has resolved my issue
