Hi,

I want to set up so that all of the machines on our network-roughly 90 machines running a combination of windows 2000 and XP automatically receive the latest windows updates. Is there a way that this can be pushed out tonight so that they are up to date for tomorrow. I have heard that this can be done through an MMC. Please help, i have searched the web for articles but have not come accross anything that has helped.

Many thanks,

Peen

MMC has nothing to do with pushing out patches. You will need a patch management system to push out patches such as SMS.

You can however configure each client to pull updates from the update site by configuring Automatic Updates. Be warned though that through my testing, I have noticed that it does not always work.

Another option you can look at is Microsoft SUS. It essentially allows you to run a local Windows update server on your Intranet. Search Microsoft's site for more info.
