An application has been made for MySql to reside on Windows XP, however the MySql database is wanted on a Linux server. As the application is hard coded, is there a way to mirror the database onto Linux? Thanks

You can set up replication, so the server on Windows replicates to the server on Linux.

But if there is any option to choose where the server is located (by a setting or by an ODBC "system DSN", for example) the application can just connect to the Linux server.

Many thanks, I will investigate that further.
