For some reason this stopped working recently.

Initially it appeared to be an updated for Office a few weeks ago.
IT reinstalled and that seemed to have fixed it though running the Task it didn't seem to run, however the scheduled task ran next day.

In the past week it has stopped and nothing seems to work.

I've tried .vbs and .bat as well.

Any ideas?

Office 2016
Office 365
Windows Server 2012
Windows 7

If not Task Scheduler perhaps another Free program that does similar function?

You really need to provide more details.

Did the version of Windows and/or Office change in the time that your scheduled task stopped (or seemed to stop) running?

Have you tested to verify it isn't working by scheduling it to run it when you know you'll be at the computer to see it run?

What is supposed to run? Have you debugged the Excel macro(s) to verify there are no errors?

If you've tried .vbs and .bat, then are those running the Excel file or are they doing what the Excel file does or what?

Can you run "this" manually? If run manually does it give errors? Does it sit there and do nothing?

I think the issue was an Office 365 update.
IT (Information Technology) department personnel reinstalled Office 365 without processing the update that started the issue.

That seemed to have fixed the issue, although manually running the Task in Task Scheduler didn't do anything. But in History it states the Task ran and completed. Interestingly the next day that scheduled Task did in fact run the .xslm.

Since over a week ago the reinstall Office 365 isn't fixing the issue as it did the previous weeks.

The Task launches the EXCEL.exe (Start a Program) (see hung program in Task Manager)
The Add Argument part has the .xlsm file with the UNC location

As mentioned, the Task worked really well until the Office update before, now Tasks are not working at all.

Looking at Task Manager, there are instances of the Excel. I am unsure where it's crashing as the Task Scheduler History doesn't provide much info at all other than they all completed.

It might be tremendously helpful if you stopped using "it" to reference the 20 or 30 unique things you are discussing and instead used complete and unambiguous identifiers.

IT = Information Technology
They reinstalled it (Task Scheduler) and seemed to work for a week or two until last week.

Then the Task Scheduler (it) stopped working as of last week.

To me it sounds like something may have gone wrong with the code in your Excel workbook. If there is code that closes the workbook and Excel, it may be either:
1. the file is corrupted
2. some new security setting you need to find a way around

...and yes I'm JUST NOW seeing this again.

I'm pretty sure it was an Office 365 issue.
Outside of Task Scheduler the workbooks work fine.

I found another program System Scheduler and that's working now.

Thanks for suggestions
