A win sys file (sys32.exe) is infected by a "bkdr ramdam" virus. I cannot clean or delete the file because the program is running when I scan for it. Any suggestions on removing it without screwing up my system?

Bonez make a boot disk from your Antivirus software. They might call it a Rescue disk or Emergency disk.
Update your virus definitions first, then boot with the floppy and scan your drive from DOS.
That way Windows will not have the file locked and you can safely fix your drive.
