In my application the table that is open along with 'Exclusive' or 'Record Unlocked' is displayed in the notification area.

Q 1 - How do I prevent display of this information

Q 2 - If possible, how do I display, say the value of a memory variable in this band?

thanks.

Check out usage of the SysCmd method in the Access online help. This allows you to control what you want to appear inb the status bar. Cheers,
