Windows shutdown won't shutdown Outlook 1

Windows XP, Outlook 2002 SP3

When I shutdown or restart Windows I have to manually close Outlook or the shutdown stops.

Anything I can do to get Outlook to shutdown automatically?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I've never found a way around this behavior.
