What do I need to edit in the registry to get rid of the Show Files warning when I try to look in the C:\Windows and \Windows\System, etc....

Thanks

I am not a win98 machine right now, but I believe that you can change that in windows explorere by going to the view/options on the menu.

It is somewhere on the first or second tab. Hope this helps.

fenris
fenris@hotmail.com

go into the windows folder and delete a hidden file called folder.htt

This is a function of viewing the folders as Web Pages. The script is in "folder.htt" as timdodgson indicated. However, rather than deleting this file altogether...why not modify the file to prevent it from putting this blank page over your directory and hiding the files.

Try editting the file and commenting out the following line:

Open the file and look for the Function Showfiles()...the next line should be something like:
"Info.inner.HTML=L_Intro_Text +.........+L_Prompt_Text;"

Put a "!" at the beginning of this line to comment out this code and see what happens.

dxd
