I would like to setup Windows Share Point Services to be accessible from the internet.
Since I'm pretty new to this I thought that if I get the webhost to redirect an adress (eg intranet.xyz.com) to the local server and I could get the users access to documents and alike.
Not sure if that would work and how to configure it correctly with some type of authentication.
Anybody could point me in the right direction. Any help appreciated.
Thanks

Actually SBS will do all the work for you. You need to rerun the Connect To the Internet wizard found in the SBS ToDo list. There is an option in there to publish the SharePoint site externally.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Another less simple option is to have your outside users connect via VPN and then open the SharePoint via a web browser ( The downside is that you generally need to add "companyweb" to your hosts file with the internal address of your server.
