I did a basic install of WSS 3.0 with all components on one server including the Windows internal database. I created 1 additional web application (in addition to the default web application). The search works for the web application I created. However, a search on the default web application returns no results. I get the following message: "No results matching your search were found." I uploaded the same document to both web applications.

Thanks.

What's the configuration of your indexing/crawling?

Time's fun when you're having flies.

It's set to the default value -- 5 minutes.

I should mention that both web applications use port 80. I use host headers for both web application.

I found the message below in the event log for the Gatherer process. I don't know what it means. Other Gatherer processes are successful.

Code:
The start address <sts3://lebhq-sp01/contentdbid={a9f25950-1a92-46a0-8f2a-8b2baa22ecff}> cannot be crawled.

Context: Application 'Search index file on the search server', Catalog 'Search'

Details:
The item could not be accessed on the remote server because its address has an invalid syntax. (0x80041208)

For more information, see Help and Support Center at

The site could not be crawled because I had an invalid url listed in the web application list in Central Administration. I deleted the web application and recreated it. The search now works.
