I want to upload a Word document with a link (hyperlink?) another SharePoint document in the same library or different library.

Is this possible? If so, what is the best way to do so?

Correction.

I want to upload a Word document with links (hyperlinks?) to other SharePoint documents in the same library or different library.

I can get it to work when linking to another doc in the same library: I just set the address of the link to the document name and leave off the absolute part of the url (so [tt]doc0.doc[/tt] rather than [tt][ignore][/ignore][/tt]).

Note that the target could be any item in the same library. Note also that this will only work if the document is opened from that library (or from other location where the target item also exists).

But I can't get it to refer to another library using a relative URL. That's because I can't seem to step back up the URL in the same way one can with a normal file (UNC) path. You may be stuck with using absolute URLs here, which means you would have to update the document manually if you ever have to move the document, move the site or rename the server.

Thanks, SPV. That's very helpful.
