I'm using windows 98, and no matter what i do to the settings for my folders they always revert back to some sort of default, everytime i resize, arrange etc. then close the window, and reopen it, it has lost the settings i have just programmed. Can anyone help?

Not really sure if this will help or not, but have you tried the folder options.
With a window open, on the menu, click on tools, folder options, and try to adjust from there. Every day above ground is a GOOD DAY!!!

thats what i just said, when i alter them using the settings/folder options or by going view/folder options windows changes the folder to look how i want it to look but once you close the window and reopen it the settings are lost. This never used to happen only started a couple of days ago, and its really getting to be quite annoying.

Under folder options, under the View tab, see if the box is checked labelled

"Remember each folder's view settings"

yep that box is checked, tried unchecking applying and then rechecking it etc.. nothing, is there some registry i can check that may have an effect

Open C: folder and set it as you like it.
Next, chose View , Folder Options.
Then , click the View tab.
Finally, click the Like Current Folder button.
Remove the Remember each folder's settings !!

Ok, thanks, that worked to a certain extent, still won't remember window size and position for each window with the remember each folder settings checked.
