Windows Service or COM+ the question!

I have a windows service that does not work very well.

It currently reads a record from a DB and writes the record to a file, but it locks up.

I was thinking that I could write a COM+ component and have a win app read a record and then instantiate an instance of the component, I could then use COM+ to handle
the instances.

Does anyone have any suggestions about my plan?
