Hi All,
I am the fortunate techie with a new server
2 * 6 core Xeon,48GB ram (24GB per CPU), 3TB (About 2TB usable after RAID).
I'm looking for some advice. I have purchased Windows Server 2012 Datacenter so I can use this machine for all of my serving needs. The idea i'm looking for is to setup Virtual servers for running different tasks.
I have the above hard disk space and the HOST OS is installed.
I am lookign for some advice with regards to setting up the 2TB in order to run my virtuals from.
Should I split the 2T down as follows:
Into seperate partitions (one for each server I want to run - Sharepoint, SQL, WebServer, AD) then add another partition to hold the data on?
Or should I just make a full 2TB parition and then use HYPER-V to create the storage and install the virtual OS'es and all data on that individual partition?
A speedy response to this would be nice so that I can decide how I am going to make it work.
Thanks everyone for the input who responds
Dave
