Hello All.

Suddently, today I can not update my Windows Server 2003 servers.

The error message is:

-----------------------------
[Error number: 0x80248015]
The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view
-----------------------------

I tried the following:
- Proxy settings checked. I see no problem because I can visit other web sites without problems.

- The date on the server is correct.

What else might be the problem?

PS:
This problem affects only Windows Server 2003 that are using Microsoft Update. I have another Win 2003 server that is using Windows Update only and it works ok. Also, Windows Server 2008 is not having this problem in my domain.

On those Windows Server 2003 servers I can not even disable Microsoft Update and return back to Windows Update only because the option "change settings" on the web page is dimmed.

Any ideas? (Especially on how to uninstall Microsoft Update and to force the server to execute the normal Windows Update)

Thank you in advance.

The fact that it is grayed out means that you have a group policy that is controlling WU settings for your servers. If you can find that policy, then create a new sub-OU in AD from the container the servers are currently in and put the problem servers in that OU, you can block GP inheritance and then selectively apply non-WU policies to that OU. That should allow you to edit the settings and configure it manually.
