The problem is, I have setup a server 2003 as a new printer server. I migrated the printers from old print server running server 2000 to the new. The printers on the new print server that I listed in the directory (Active Directory) show up but I am not able to connect to them. It gives an error message saying - "Windows cannont connect to the printer. Either the name is incorrect, or you have lost connection to the server. But I can go to Run and type in the \\newprintservername\ and I am able connect to any of the printers just fine this way. I tried googling this but no luck.

If anyone could give me some advice I would gladly appreciate it.

Thanks

mj

Have you checked the port properties to make sure the name is correct?

I am taking a guess that the printers haven't republished in ad and the objects are pointing to the old ones.

Try clearing the publish tickbox and closing the printer then reselecting it and see what happens after a couple of minutes.

I double checked the names and they are all correct, and I also tried clearing the publish in directory checkbox closed printer and restarted print spooler. Still no luck. I noticed today when I went to search for the printers in the directory none of them were displaying from the new print server, but they were yesterday? Strange...
