Windows Server 2003 and Macola

Has anyone ever installed Macola on a Windows 2003 Server, and if so is there anything I need to be aware of? I can find virtually nothing on this topic in the infomine at Macola's website.

Hi Don,

I have not installed on Windows 2003 Server yet, but there is no reason why you could not. The same restrictions that existed for Windows 2000 Server, will apply for Windows 2003 Server. These being that Macola does not support clustering and performance issues when running Macola from Small Business Server are to be expected and they don't want to hear about it.

We've just done a Progression (not ES) install on a 2003 server for the first time. Only problem we've encountered so far (we installed it last week), was related to the security settings on 2003 - we kept getting warnings on the console for every Macola executable that ran, but we were able to turn this off fairly easily. We certainly didn't encounter any 'show stoppers'. The server went out to the client site today - so as 2003 related problems occur, I'll post them here.

We moved Macola over to a 2003 server with pervasive 2000 for a client. We had a problem with tcp/ip with pervasive. As soon as we enabled netbios in pervasive it worked fine.

I have been running Macola 7.5.103f on SQL Server 2000 & Win 2003 Server for 2+ months now. I have experienced no 2003 specific issues, and am quite pleased with 2003 server.
