Hello,
I recently wanted to try and dabble in using win2k RRAS but I cannot figure out how to do even the most simple of task. Ok here is what I want to do:
I have 2 networks each with a switch and each has 2 pc's connected to them. Lets call them networks A & B. Now I have 2 win2k servers; NIHIL and BEEPBLUE. NIHIL is connected to network A only and also uses ICS to share an internet connection. Deepblue has 2 nics in it and will bridge networks A&B allowing both networks to see the pc's connected to both networks and allowing netowrk B to access the internet through NIHIL.
Network A has the following ip range: 192.168.0.1-255
Network B has the following ip range: 192.168.1.1-255
Each network has the subnet 255.255.255.0
NIHIL uses a PPPOE adapter and simple ICS to share a DSL internet connection and another nic set to 192.168.0.1 and is connected to network "A".
DEEPBLUE has 2 nics one with 192.168.0.100 connected to network "A" and the other one with 192.168.1.1 connected to network "B"
And each network has 2 pc's network A has 192.168.0.11 and 192.168.0.12
Ditto for network B but with 192.168.1.11 and 192.168.1.12
Both PC's connected to network B must be able to use the internet on NIHIL. They must also be able to ping and connect to the 2 pc's on network A and vice versa.
Any answers would be extreamly appreciated. I would also like to know If there are any Windows 2000 RRAS for dummies books out there. Something that assumes the user has no clue as to how win2k rras routing works and is written in plain english. Thanks!
