Windows registry missing .rtf and .xls etc. objects

I am using Access 2000. I use sendobject code in many of my databases. I am receiving the following error and I need help fixing this:

"The formats that enable you to output data as a Microsoft Excel, rich-text format, MS-DOS text, or HTML file are missing from the windows registry"

How do I go about adding or fixing the files required in the windows registry?

I tried loading virtually everything from the Office 2000 disk, but that did not work.
