I'm running Oracle 10g on Windows x64 and would like to enable large page support.

The instructions state to grant the Windows "oracle" user the user right of "lock pages in memory".

The Oracle databases run as a service under the "local system" account. In this case "local system" is my "oracle" user, correct?

Hi,
as far as it goes, yes..But you should create a dedicated user to run the Oracle processes to insure that you can maintain security and to grant only those permissions needed.
I expect the deployment/installation guide(s) will specify which permissions are needed ( and also recommend a creating dedicated user).
