Windows "flicker" when user selects a link with arrow cursor...

I have a menu bar in which users place their mouse over a button and a menu drops down. When they pass their mouse over an item in the menu, a submenu appears. If they click on the item when the cursor is a hand, there is no problem, but if they try to select the item when the cursor is an arrow, and then again when it's a hand, the windows flicker (any open windows do this) and the only way to solve the problem is to restore the website.

My code is being pulled from a .js file.

Has anyone experienced this? Can anyone help??

Is it something to do with the links being contained in a div? If by flicker you mean the menus are showing/hiding then I have had this problem with a menu - but I accidentally solved it because I was capturing mouseover on the links.

When the mouse goes over a link it thinks it is going out of the div - so hiding it! Frustrating.
