Is Novell the authenticator? Are you running Intranetware?

By the sound of the error it seems as though it is looking for an NT Domain Controller.

What protocols are being used? If TCP/IP try pinging the gateway or the Domain Controller. If Intranetware, SP5 may have overwritten some of the Netware files...try reinstalling Client32/Intranetware.
