Here is my predicament. We currently have a domain in which our Crystal Enterprise server has been installed. I want to use Windows NT authentication for all users. We have an East Cost division which is where the Crystal Enterprise server is located. All East Coast users are in the domain of the CE server. So all I do is add the domain user to the local Crystal NT users group and have the CE application create the new users. Then when they log into the domain and open up Crystal Enterprise ePortfolio their WIndows NT credentials get passed to the applicaiton and they can log on without entering any username and password.

My problem is that we have a West Coast division that will also be accessing Crystal Enterprise. But, they are in a different domain. All users in our West Coast division also have a user created for them in the East Coast domain so that they can access various applications in the East Coast, if need be.

Can I use Windows NT authentication if a user logs into a different domain than what the CE server is located in? I was thinking that if their user name and password was the same in both domains then it may work.

I apologize if this may be confusing..

If users of the West Coast domain are added to your Crystal NT Group then they should be able to log into CE by entering their \\Domain\User Name (\\westcoast\rhinok) and password.

Check out your help file for more information:

Code:

So you are saying that I should add the (\\WestCoastDomain\NT Username) to the local CrystalNT Users Group. The only problem here is that the WestCoast users will have to enter their username and password which is what we were trying to avoid.
