Windows NT 4

I am using a workstation which has Windows NT 4 OS and I am
getting a message stating Windows Installer cannot be accessed which is preventing me to use any office programs
I tryed to re-install Office 2000 but same message pops up
when I run the setup, any ideas on what to do about this?

First run a anti-virus software (updated)
then download the latest version available of Windows Installer for NT 4 and install it.
