Windows Mobile and File Sync Bug

Using a Windows Mobile 5.0 handheld and ActiveSync 4.1, I have been trying to have a downloaded file with field data entered into it replace the file already existing on the PC. After spending too much time trying to determine why the edited file would not replace the existing PC file, an email from the tech support at the handheld manufacturer informed the problem was apparently introduced by Microsoft with an AKU ("service pack")release for Windows Mobile. AKU 2.0 through a beta version of AKU 3.0 show the bug. Have others experienced problems trying to syncronize a file changed on a Windows Mobile handheld with their PC?
