Every time I start Outlook Express, I get the the windows messenger icon displayed in the system tray. I've looked in add/remove progs/windows components but it's not there. I might be wrong, but I think it came about by installing the the XP Service pack 2 ??

Can I get rid of messenger ?

Cheers

Thanks smah.

FAQ779-1380 worked a treat.

I did d/l the dougknox script but was alerted to it as being malicious script. I'm sure it would have been OK but tried the other route in case and it's sorted !

Thanks again

Glad it worked. Actually that was very prudent not to run an unknown script. So just for future reference, Doug Knox is an MS MVP and his web site has lots of great info, utilities & scripts.

I agree with smah, he has many great tools on his site.
