windows messenger determining sent email account?

I use windows messenger, which I sign in as one of my 3 email addresses. I have all 3 email accounts working and retrieving mail with Outlook 2003.

However when I send mail, it always goes out under the email account associated with windows messenger, even if I tell it to use one of the other accounts.

Has anyone experienced this before and if so is there a solution short of having 3 windows messenger accounts?

Is this Windows messenger or msn messenger? I havent tried this, but have to tried using Trillian in place of msn messenger?

When I see it in the systray and hold the mouse pointer over it, it says windows messenger. When I click on help about it says Windows messenger v4.7.3001.
