I am now fed up with all these decisions!!!

My aim is to have just one multimedia player on my PC to play Mpeg, AVi and MP3.

MP3 is not the problem, but when I want to view a movie clip, sometimes it reads ok in WMP but not Realplayer and sometimes the other way around.

Can someone tell me if there is a single application out there that does it all without having codec trouble all the time and does not eat every resource my PC has?

Please help

Thanks in advance

Well, if u are using windows based OS then WMP is the best choice u have. Because it is the most efficient multimedia player for WINDOWS.

But, for hearing music in windows there is a program called CD player. It is much more efficient to play music in there then in the WMP.

But some Mpeg files are not supported by WMP (missing Codecs etc), and it is reported as being very resource hungry.

Surely there is ONE application out there that opens every video file and plays all types of music with no hassle?

Or am I dreaming of the perfect world for a Windows 98SE user?

Isnt the better one v7.1 (the most up to date version?)

Remember that when new DIVX codecs come out, there are people making AVI's using these new codecs (they have more features). So if you download one of those AVI's, your pc must have the same codecs or newer to play them. So, you'll always have to download/update the codecs on your system, regardless of the player you have installed.

I believe DIVX 5 is the newest release. Go to the VCDHELP website under the Tools sections to find more info... ~cdogg

The beta release (or is it a release canadate now) of winamp 3 plays most everything. But no program is perfect. I recomend doing a google search for the nimo codec pack. It contains most of the formats i've ever ran into.
