I recently bought a new PC for my daughter which came with Windows ME, I have Windows 98(1st edition). I bought a Linksys Network Start Kit, which came with a 5 port hub, 2 ethernet cards and cables. I installed everything, turned print and file sharing on, allowed our drives to be shared and that about it. I could see my pc from my daughters and vice versa, I could access all the directories but when I clicked on any file the systems would hang. It would hang for a few minutes and then return with resource is nolonger available. I could ping each system and the response time was very quick. I called Linksys support and they couldn't help me because Windows ME is too new! They said to call Microsoft, which in turn told me to call the company I bought the PC from. So if you help me out I'd appreciate it.

call them back and tell them you have win98 , and see what they tell you, basically WinME is the same thing as 98, except ME doesnt have any DOS, and it doesnt allow Non-Microsoft Networking protocals, thats about it on the system level.

but ya just give them a call, and see what kind of sugestions they offer for "Win98" they probally dont wana say anything about WinME because they're afraid a wrong answer could get them sued.
